Latest Tools of Trade, July 2020 Edition

It has been a while this has not been updated. I decided to write on the latest gadget I own.

So let us start with laptop. I have been using Macbook Pro 15 Late 2015 since 2016. The Mac OS since Sierra has been complete mess for me. More on more apps only available for MS Windows. Even when it is available for Mac it won’t be as good as MS Windows version (looking at MS Excel). So in May 2019, I decided to once again go to MS Windows side and bought Dell XPS 15 9570. The spec is quite high

Processor Intel Core i7-8750H 6 x 2.2 – 4.1 GHz, Coffee Lake-H
Graphics adapter NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q – 4 GB
Memory 16 GB, DDR4-2666, Dual-Channel, up to 32 GB
Display15.6 inch 16:9, 3840 x 2160 pixel 282 PPI, capacitive, LQ156D1, IPS, glossy: yes
StorageToshiba XG5 KXG50ZNV512G, 512 GB, 462 GB free
Weight 2.014 kg ( = 71.04 oz / 4.44 pounds)
Power Supply: 439 g ( = 15.49 oz / 0.97 pounds)

Dell XPS 15 9570

Once received I immediately upgraded few components

I replaced the SSD with Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVME SSD 1 TB and conducted clean install of MS Windows.

I replaced the RAM with 32 GB kit of Corsair Vengeance (2 x 16 GB)

I also replaced the Killer Wifi Card with Intel AX 200 that has Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5

I am happy as a clam.

As on the mobile side, I have been using Samsung Galaxy Note FE for the last 2 years or so.

And just before that I rocked an Android One phone The Xiaomi MI A1 but replace it with Note FE because of under power and lackluster camera

Galaxy Note FE was starting to show the age when the 64GB main storage was occupied by apps and only spare meager 4-5 GB.

So I decided to replace it with Samsung Galaxy S10+ with 512 GB main storage
